Our Services

Routine Check-up

You will be included in each part of the treatment planning and the on-going management of your oral health. A preventative approach will ensure you maintain a healthy and beautiful smile for life.

Did you know that gum and periodontal disease can affect the rest of your health?

Restorative Dentistry

Using the latest techniques and equipment; we will restore your teeth to optimum function and aesthetical appearance. Whether it be for aesthetic reasons or function, we can help you out!

We do not use silver (amalgam) as a material in our practices - rather the highest-grade composite resins & glass ionomers which are matched to your tooth colour for the most aesthetically pleasing results. In saying that, we are not advocating for removal of functional existing amalgam restorations you have in your mouth already.

We also offer laboratory fabricated porcelain or metal restorative options (indirect) - should directly placed material be inadequate for the function and longevity of the tooth in that area.

Tooth Whitening

A safe and affordable - yet professional finish!

We recommend Poladay or Polanight as a home bleaching system which is managed in comfort of your own home, in your own time. We comply with the Australian regulations dental board to ensure the safety of your teeth for maximum results.

Oral Surgery

Many dental treatments can be challenging for adults and even more so for children. Day surgeries and hospitals offer a safe environment for high‑quality care, especially for young children, highly anxious patients, and those with complex needs or medical conditions.

General anaesthesia is often recommended when the patient is very young, extremely fearful, requires extensive treatment, or has special health needs that make multiple dental visits difficult.

We never recommend general anaesthesia lightly, but our priority is always safe, high‑quality care and a non‑traumatic experience. We work in conjunction with  St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Lismore for our General Anaesthesia treatments.

Paediatric & Special Needs Dentistry

It's time for fun and fearless dentistry!

We love ensuring your children have healthy teeth … and most importantly have fun at our practice! This helps to build confidence throughout their lives when coming to the dentist.

We do all we can to ensure your kids are comfortable and happy whilst they are here.

Crowns, Bridges, Veneers and Implants

Porcelain or metal fixed prosthesis such as crowns, bridges and veneers offer a long-lasting, aesthetical and functional replacement when a lot of tooth structure needs to be replaced.

These may also include restoring the crown on top of an natural tooth, implant or bridging a gap with a fake tooth.

Implants are the ideal replacement for a lost tooth. They are often referred to as "screw" inside your jaw bone. This "screw" then integrates into the bone for a solid "foundation" that acts like a tooth's root. The crown that then screws inside the implant replaces the crown part of your missing tooth.

Nothing can ever be as strong and be as ideal as your own tooth. These types of treatment options are never done without due consideration of what the neighbouring teeth look like, your bite, your habits, your anatomy and many other factors!

Invisalign, ClearCorrect and Other Orthodontic Treatments

We offer the complete range of Invisalign and ClearCorrect retainers. This is one of the clear alternatives to conventional grey braces for the busy modern world.

Unlike having conventional orthodontics with metal wires and brackets: Invisalign and ClearCorrect are virtually invisible. Some of our dentists have had extra training and can offer other orthodontic alternatives. Feel free to ask us more.

This may not be suitable for all cases so we suggest you arrange a consultation with our dentists to see if this is a possibility for you.

Airflow

This amazing piece of technology uses warmed water and powder to gently clean plaque and calculus from your teeth. Leave the dental chair feeling fresh, calm and ready to take on the world.

OPG and Cone Beam CT X-rays

At our Yamba practice, we conveniently have an OPG/CBCT machine in the practice. This facilitates quicker diagnosis, referrals as well as convenience for patients, dentists and specialists alike.

An OPG is a simple 2-dimentional X-ray that helps clinicians see all your teeth, jaws and joints in one nice "whole mouth" view. It is excellent for diagnosing disease of bone and teeth and usually is needed to assess the position and shape of wisdom teeth and before surgical procedures (like implants) can be considered.

Cone Beam CT scans are a more detailed form of examinations that allows for 3-dimentional analysis, diagnosing and planning of surgeries. CBCT are low dose CT's of just the areas in the head that is required.

Most specialists use this technology daily, so having this diagnosing and panning tool available is getting you excellent care quicker and more reliably.

Infection Control

At Family Dental Yamba & Grafton we love to go above and beyond! Behind the scenes our sterilising procedures are no exception to this level of attention to detail.

We have state of the art equipment and processes that exceed Australian Standards. This includes giving non-critical instruments just as much sterilising "love" as our critical instruments.

All instruments are barcoded and scanned to your specific file and appointment, ensuring all equipment can be tracked back to its sterilisation process, batch ...

You can rest assured you're safe in our hands.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Also known as "laughing gas" is a totally safe, in-chair sedation alternative that can be offered by our highly trained dentists.

The affordable sedative option can help you relax in the chair so you can put your mind at ease whilst receiving any of our treatments.

Digital Scanning

Remember having had impressions taken for a mouthguard, dental fixed prosthesis like crowns, night-guards... Although we still need to do them from time to time, we no longer routinely dirty your face and fill your mouth with gooey impression material.

In both our surgeries, we can scan your whole mouth, especially teeth and bite in order to facilitate the best possible fit, quickest turn-around time and your comfort.

This technology is one of the most exciting advances in dentistry and we gladly offer it to our patients.
